2015 November Player of the Week Dinner
Our Guest Speaker for the evening is Former Atlanta Falcon
Brian attended Santa Margarita Catholic High School in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. He finished his High School career with a school Record 177 receptions. After high school, he went on to play college football with the Villanova University Wildcats. Like High School, Finneran left Villanova holding school records with 265 receptions for 3,872 yards and 34 touchdowns. His senior year was his best, catching 96 passes for 1,389 yards and 19 touchdowns. That year he earned All American Honors from the Associated Press and was awarded the Walter Payton Award (given to the top offensive player in Division I-AA football). In 2003 Villanova retired the #25 jersey in Brian’s Honor.
After Graduating from Villanova, Brian signed as an undrafted free agent with the Seattle Seahawks, he was assigned to NFL Europe’s Barcelona Dragons where he was named All-NFL Europe. Upon his return to the NFL, Brian played one year with the Philadelphia Eagles before joining the Atlanta Falcons, the team he would spend the rest of his career. In the 2010 season, Finneran’s last, he played in all 16 regular-season games, helping the Falcons finish the year with a 13-3 record and on top the National Football Conference going into the Playoffs.
Brian is currently one of the host on The Front Row, a morning sports talk show on 680 The Fan. He is an ambassador for USA Football, and is active with SafeKids, an organization that promotes helmet safety, and with the “Bee a Buckler” Safety Program, which promotes seat belt use. He resides here in Atlanta. Brian and his wife Erin, have four children, Conor, Brynn, Keenan and Cullen. Join us as we welcome Brian to share his story with us.
